Are Air Filters Covered Under Warranty?

Components in your car that need to be repaired or replaced due to wear and tear are not typically covered by a warranty. This includes items such as brake pads, brake rotors, batteries, windshield wipers, hoses, air filters, oil filters, light bulbs, and liquids. This is known as a consumable part. Anything with a useful life of x km (oil, oil filters, air filters, cabin air filters, spark plugs, etc.) will not be under warranty (with some rare exceptions). For European brand vehicles with extended oil filter change intervals, it is recommended to use the original equipment filter.

If a spark plug fails at about 30,000 km before it needs to be replaced, the manufacturer may not be able to claim that the warranty was voided by using an inadequate replacement part. The replacement or repaired product will be shipped to you with prepaid freight or made available for pick up at a local dealer designated by Clean Air Filter. Items replaced under this warranty will become the property of Clean Air Filter and will be returned to Clean Air Filter if requested. The remedies under this warranty are limited to the provisions for replacement or repair of the warranted product as specified in this document. Generally speaking, parts that are not covered by the basic warranty are wear and maintenance elements such as filters (air, fuel, cabin air oil, transmission filter &), fluids (oil, coolant, power steering fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid), brake linings (pads and brake shoes), brake rotors, brake drums, clutch linings, belts, hoses, wiper blades and tires (which are covered by their own independent warranty).

The Clean Air Filter Company guarantees that its products are free from defects in materials and workmanship. Damage to parts, accessories, housings, accessories and accessories that are not part of the air cleaner including check valves and hoses are not covered. If you are doing your own oil changes, keep a receipt for the oil and filter you purchased and note the date and mileage of the oil change. This includes things like changing the oil and oil filter at the intervals specified for the type of driving you are doing, replacing a timing belt or other parts at the specified mileage etc. Anything that is incorrect or that fails within the covered warranty period must be replaced at the expense of manufacturer of the vehicle and at no cost to you (except possibly a small deductible).Your car is under a toyotacare plan that provides you with 5 free services (tire rotations every 5,000 miles and oil changes every 10,000 miles), but the car's container air filter and engine air filter are your responsibility to change them.

It is important to know if the equipment is replaced in year 8 of a 10-year warranty; for example, that new piece of equipment will be covered by the warranty for the remaining 2 years of the original warranty. In this case instead of replacing just one part they will replace the entire condenser or air handler.
